god's mission for me & the humble and lowly person is the one god uses

i read about john the baptist preparing the way for jesus.

as i read, it struck me that john had a mission and his was to prepare the way for jesus. john's mission was prophesised many years ago by isaiah.

john has a destiny in god.

in the same way, we also have a destiny in god. ours may not be prophesised many years ago but the principle still holds true that god has a destiny for us.

do i know my destiny and my mission from god?

for this period of time, i think god has brought me into contact with many more young people, and international ones at that. at each time, i meet 100 students from all over asia.

thank and praise god he has risen me up to this occasion.

i believe that god wants to use me to reach out to these youths and have them bring the gospel back to their countries. these are the future leaders of their countries and from these students will come leaders who wield influence.

may the word of god be deposited in their hears such that when they are in positions of authority, they will be a godly influence in the respective asian countries and in this way, the word and light of god spreads and multiplies.

i checked my heart to see if i truly want the glory of god or is it for my own ego?

i want it to be be god's glory and name and i pray that this will be truely so.

if it is truely for god's glory and name, let me just give my best and give the rest to god, believing that god will work all things out for his own purposes.

amen to that.

god, let me work in your power and your joy. let people see the joy that you give me. let me be a living testimony of you. amen.

Then Jerusalem, all Judea, and all the region around the Jordan went out to him 6

it is reassuring to note that as john goes out to fulfill his mission, god sends people to him. john did not go to them but the people came.

in the same way, god speaks to me that the students will come to me even as i go forth. i cannot understand how but god will bring his word to pass.

amen.

He who is coming after me is mightier than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry.

these are the people that god uses and the qualities of humility is clearly evident in john and jesus:

Then Jesus came from Galilee to John at the Jordan to be baptized by him. 14 And John tried to prevent Him, saying, “I need to be baptized by You, and are You coming to me?”

first, jesus also went to john though the is the Son of god and son of man. he did not ask john to go to him. this is a mark of lowliness.

then he asked john to bapise him. this is also a sign of humility as he subjected himself to john's authority. this is despite the fact that he is the king of kings.

and what is john's response? john acknowledges the fact that he needs to be baptisef by jesus. he knows that jesus is in higher authority than him. john realises that jesus has come to him and he is amz by that.

thus today god teach me about humility and lowliness. the kind of people god uses are those who think nothing of themselves, but who subject themselves, first to god, then to the people around them.

with humility and lowliness, god's anointing flows.

this is the type of person god uses.
