My ministry begins at home.

2 Tim 4
Let no one despise your youth, but be an example to the believers in word, in conduct, in love, in spirit,[b] in faith, in purity. 13 Till I come, give attention to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine. 14 Do not neglect the gift that is in you, which was given to you by prophecy with the laying on of the hands of the eldership. 15 Meditate on these things; give yourself entirely to them, that your progress may be evident to all. 16 Take heed to yourself and to the doctrine. Continue in them, for in doing this you will save both yourself and those who hear you.

Learning points
1) I am young but the Lord has exhorted me to set an example to the believers ( not non believers).

2) How do i set the example? Speech, behaviour, love, spirit, faith and purity.
how does one set the example in faith, purity and spirit?

in spirit- move in the spirit. show the believers what it is to abide in christ. how one's life is a spiritual journey and not one which is in the flesh

in faith - let my life be one that is marked by faith in god and purity of heart. let this be evident to those around, esp the believers.

4) take note of my life and my doctrine. be completely committed to them.

5) a result of this whole hearted commitment will be progress that will be witnessed by all around.

3) give attention to the reading of the word. this applies to myself, my children and my campus ministry. the word should be emphasised.

4)use the gift that has been given me. what is the gift? the gift is one of prophecy, encouragement and healing. use it

I realise that i am just an infant in the eye of god. i am still struggling to be self controlled in the words i speak. i am weak at perseverance. suddenly i realise i am no spiritual giant. in fact i am just an infant in god's eyes.

cause me to grow in you lord. teach and change me to be self controlled and persevering. i want to pursue godliness lord. thank you.

Prayer of Praise
I praise you lord for the work you have done in my family, that my children are able to witness that god has answered their prayers and dad and mum are quarelling less.

i praise you lord that you are a faithful god who loves us so much you will neve let us go. your faithfulness is YOU.

i praise you lord that puay hong is going downstairs to have some private time with you.

Prayer of petition and thanksgiving

thank you lord for my lovely family. my parents sis hubby and children and maid. i love them and i pray that you teach me to love them with your love.

i pray for josef's training in godliness. may you give ph and i wisdom on how to train ourselves and our children in godliness. let ourselves and our children grow deep in the love of god- that we may know you andlove you.

lord i pray for ph that he may know and love you heart to heart and soul to soul. transform him by rooting him in you. let there be such a close relationship with you and let him taste of your providence. his earthly dad knew only how to provide physical stuff to him. there was no sharing and interaction and no reliance on each other. i pray that you will show yourself different to him.

as ph exp you, let him be transformed as a dad too with his children and me.

i pray for my parents' marriage, that it will be filled with your love once again. transform each of them and cause them to live in the joy and the love of the holy ghost.

i pray for my children's studies. i pray that they will be filled with joy of learning. fill them with a sense of satisfaction as they learn new things. take away any phobia from them as they encounter difficulties but give them the resilience to overcome them. i pray that you will grant them discipline and motivation to do their work. bless them with friends who are able to movitate them.

i pray that you will make them to be at the top to bring glory to your holy name. put them in places of authority that their influence may be wider. let them shine in their schools and let all glory go to you.

i plead the blood of jesus over them too. that the blessings and anointing of god may fill their lives. let them live out the destinies you have for them.

i pray for my marriage it will be one filled with freshness and excitement. let staleness not seep in but i pray that it will be fresh.

2 tim 2 Jesus is the Spring of Godliness

In the same way, the women[c] are to be worthy of respect, not malicious talkers but temperate and trustworthy in everything.

(v 11)

temperate refers to behaviour which is calm and sensible.

lord change to be a temperate woman reflecting your glory and beauty. i surrender my short temper to you and pray that the power of the holy spirit will transform me to a temperate woman. thank you lord. not by my strength but by the power of the holy spirit.

Jesus

He appeared in the flesh,
was vindicated by the Spirit,[d]
was seen by angels,
was preached among the nations,
was believed on in the world,
was taken up in glory. (v16)

jesus is the 'mystery' and he is the spring of godliness.

if we want to be godly, it is not by our efforts but by abiding in christ.

Ministry

God's household - church of the living god - pillar and foundation of the truth

my primary ministry god has called me to do is the one at home. Home is the church of the living god and it is the pillar and foundation of truth.

give me wisdom for this ministry lord.

lord i surrender my fiery outbursts to you. grant me a gentle and quiet spirit, one which is temperate and self controlled, one which is slow to anger and quick to listen. help me to understand others and see things from their point of view.

dear lord only the holy spirit can bring about such a change. i love you lord and may my life glorify your name.

Thanksgiving prayer

thank you dear lord for keeping matthy safe. thank you dear lord for blessing debbie and jo jo with a good time in school. i thank you that you are in the business of taking away debbie's fear for chinese.

thank you dear lord, for puay hong who loves the family. may he love you more than us. bless his health even as he gives of himself to us.

thank you dear lord for granting me favour with my bosses, that they are able to help me in my difficultites. may this favour overflow to my colleagues students and fmaily members as well.

thank you most of all dear jesus for always being around in ALL situations. you are the most faithful god ever and i worship you.

Prayer

prayer should be made for ALL people,especially those in authority. this is so that we can lead lives in quietness and holiness, that we may lead peaceful and quiet lives. (v1)

jesus there is so much to be done. please helop me as i feel the stress creeping on me. grant me speed and wisdom as i mark, plan lecgtures and write for NP. lord i need time to fill in the mcys form apply for internet banking pay insurance and credit card bills.

i need wisdom too to bring up the children in the fear of the lord. first help me to root myself in you that your life may overflow from me in to my family.

each child is different and i need your wisdom to reach out to them in christ. that they may know the lord. show me how and use me lord.

i pray for puay hong that he will find rest in you. he seemed very stressed by all that he needs to do too. help him with his tasks and let him taste of the goodnes of the lord.

i pray that his desires will be in line with yours. there will be no conflict between his heart mind and soul. but let there be unity among them.

i pray that puay hong will grow deep in you and know you heart to heart. let him know you in such a way never before with his earthly father.

i pray that his car park anointing will overflow in to all other areas of his life. that he may experience the amzing providence of the lord. that he need not rely on himself for what he needs or desires... but that the lord will provide.

i plead the blood of christ over my family and my job. i pray for wisdom and favour with my bosses and my students. i pray for the ideas and wisdom to carry out my lectures effectively and with divine wisdom and presence.

let my life speak loudly for the love of christ.

the chapter talks about praying for all men in authority that we may lead peaceful and quiet lives. when i read it it reminds me that my husband has been ordained by god as the man of authority in the family. i am to pray for him as the word commands.

patience

patient eudurance and faithfulness.

rvl 13 talks about persecutions of the christians and the need to be patient and faithful to christ unto deat.

i searched my heat and asked if i would be able to do that for christ? i have never been put in such a situation before.

i do not know my ability to endure and be faithful but i do know that i want to and by god's grace, let it be true.

what did i learn from bible reaidng today?
i learn about god's patience and showing of mercy to sinner of which the writer is the worst.

i pray that the lord will teach me to be patient with my children husband and domestic helper , realising that i am a person who is in need of much grace myself.

as i teach my children, help me to exemplify the patience dear lord.

lord i pray for josef. i pray for you will motivate him to excel in what he does. exceling doesn't seem to matter to this little boy and i pray that you will cause him to mature and realise that he should always give the best that he could in all things. lord i pray that you will bless him spiritually and cause him to grow deep in you. let him understand you heart to heart and see you face to face. lord i pray that he will encounter you in such a real manner that he will never denounce his faith in you, esp in teens.

lord i pray for deborah. i pray for a deepening relationship with hubby and i . i pray that she will continue to know your word and you. lord open her mind and spirit that she may know you. lord bless her with the rainbow that we have been asking for. show yourself real to her even though the rainbow has been shown. deepen her faith in you dear lord. i pray for her recognition of words dear lord. i ask that she will be able to recognise english words soon. she loves reading and appreciates recognising words. give me ideas how to teach her dear lord.

lord i pray for matthias that he will be able to adjust well after marissa leaves. i pray that he will allow paw and me to take care of him at night. transform his tears into joy and let him find security in us. i pray that no remnants of inseucrity will be placed in his heart as marissa leaves but let his mind understand that workers come and go but families stay together forever.

lord i pray that you continue to look after matthias and not allow him to bump his head anymore. protect him that he may be safe. protect him from HFM too. lord i pray that the hygeine level will be high in school and at home and he will be protected from the disease.

lord even as i plan my BC lectures, i pray that you will give me the ideas and resources about what to do. lead me to interesting resources that will engage the students. thank you dear lord.
