Call to repentance

The Call to Salvation…First and foremost a call to Jesus (Matt. 9:13, Mark 2:17, Luke 5:32, Acts 2:39, Romans 1:5–6, etc.).
 But go and learn what this means: ‘I desire mercy and not sacrifice.’^[b] For I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners, to repentance.”<sup>[c]

Response

God has called us to bring sinners to repentance. This is our primary calling because this is Jesus' primary calling as Christ.

Let me examine my own life. How much does my life reflect this calling?

Lord forgive me that I have not been focused on this calling. Consume me once again with the heartbeat for souls - that I may live out your calling upon me.
