Words of Blessing for Students

Thank you for giving my students
a mind that can know

and a heart that can love.

Help them keep learning every day of their lives. Not only about studies, but about life and people around them.


Encourage them when work is difficult
and when they are tempted to give up;

encourage them when their brain seem slow
and the way forward is difficult.

Grant them the grace to excel in their work and be at their best on the examination day.

Amen.

hope and Isaih Initiative

But hope that is seen is no hope at all. Who hopes for what he already has? 25But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently. Romans 8

how interesting that in the morning i prayed that i do not see how Isiah Initiative (II) will be taking off, and now i read the above verse.

god is speaking to me that we hope in what we do not see.

what a direct verse. thank you god for encouraging us that we do not need to see the way, we only need to focus on you and let you lead step by step.

2012- after thots

this is one of the most gripping and powerful movie i have watched these past few years.

it set me thinking... not about how life may end ... but how life may go on - for me, at least.

the suddeness that doomsday arrived reminds me to live out my priorities from this moment on.

to do that, i must know what are my priorities?

after some pondering, i decided that my prorities is a close relationship with jesus, family and people around me. It is also to live out my destiny.

R/s with jesus
i must know Him heart to heart and mind to ming. he should be the closest one in my life. i should be able to discern his will and his voice, that i may follow Him closely.

my family
first puay hong. we must be united as husband and one, having the same vision and hearbeat so that we may pursue these goals together.

children - i must give time to them to read god's word, share testimonies, worship and simply talk about god's greatness

my biological family - esp my mum and sis. i wan to spend more time listening to them.

my work - my work is my ministry. my students are the future generations. may a legaccy of values be passed on in ways i cannot understand.

what's my destiny?
To know Him and be known by Him.

i hope life does not end in 2012 tho. there is still so much to look forward to.

dead but made alive

romans 7

when i read this chapter, i learnt that we are all dead in us due to sin that reigns in our lives. Law cannot save us. Only the power of God can do it.

so lets not judge each other by our misdeeds cos we are all in a helpless state. let us look at each other with eyes of compassion cos we realise that only God by his grace can save us from misdeeds.

dear god teach me to be compassionate like you and not judge others. help me understand that we are all under the law of sin and death and teach me to appreciate your grace which you have extended to all of us.

fill me up with your compassion and tender mercies, that i may be that flowing stream that seeps into the people's hearts around me.

dear god not by my power but by the power of your holy spirit.

god i pray for my sister that you will bring into her life brothers and sisters in christ who will encourage on in faith and love. use me in any way that i could be a source of support and encouragement to her as well.

i pray that you continue to honour her and satisfy the desires of her heart even as she honours you and delights in you.

dear god i pray for myself that i will surrender more of my life to you. in my inner being let me filled with the presence of god. let me thirst for you cos you are my all in all.

god i want to know you cos you are the only one who has loved me completely and you are the only one who has given totally to me. i belong to you and in you i find my security. in you is my destiny.

lord, let me live out the destiny you have for me. always let me in the center of your will. teach me to hear your voice and obey it.

let me see you face to face and fill me with your joy and peace.

i love you jesus

His present to me this christmas

" the gift of god is eternal life in christ jesus" ( roman 6)

yes even as christmas approaches, let me remind myself of god's xmas present to me.

thank you god that i have eternal life in christ jesus. teach me dear lord to live my life here on earth with this eternal perspective in mind.

let the things of this earth grow dim and let my heart be filled with joy even as i know that forever i am in jesus hand.

if i have eternal life, then i should live in a way that builds my eternal home. what is it?

know the word of god
know god
save the soul of men
disciple the next generation to know god
take things in this world "lightly", realising that these are temporal

dear god teach me to live with the eternal perspective

may josef deborah and matthias know and love you . keep these children for yourself and never let them go. hold them so that they may live out the destiny you have for each of them.

use me to reach out to the younger generation. let the victories come and let your light shine.

alive in god, dead to self

Romans 6

today god speaks to me about being dead to our old man and being alive in god.

we are under grace and not law.

i just sense in my heart that god is calling me to pray more and more. pray for the spirit man to arise in the loved ones around us.

pray that we will be alive in god and crucify the old man in us.

dear lord
i pray for puay hong josef deborah matthias, myself and family that we will arise in the spirit.

let us see you face to face that we may know you heart to heart and mind to mind.

empower us that we may no longer live according to the lust of our flesh but to the desires of your heart.

god consume us that we may be yours and yours alone.

for deborah i pray that she will submit her spirit to yours. teach her to depend on god for all things that she needs. let not her self suff be a stumbling block in her life.

for josef i thank you for the wisdom that you have poured into his life.i pray that you will let him konw you heart to heart. he is a sensitive boy. teach him to be sensitive to your spirit. i pray you will open his mouth and cause him to sing praises to you.

for matthias, i pray that his spirit will be tamed by god. let him be wild about jesus and be completely sold out to you lord.

i pray that from my family a generation of god fearing warriors will be raised up.

i pray for hong that he will have a broken and humble heart so that he may be used mightily by god.

change me dear lord that i may be like a trickling stream.

amen.

god's word to josef

wealso rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; 4perseverance, character; and character, hope. 5And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us.

romans 5

my eyes nearly popped out when i saw the above verse for the day. i was asking god about josef situaiton in school in the morning and the above verse appeared in my mind.

now when i am spending time with god, it appeared before me.

i am so amazed.

i am prompted by god to write the verse on the card and pass it to josef.

give me the faithfulness to do the 'small' things you have called me to do.
