after his son slept with his sister, why didn't david punished him? there was no mention of it. it simply stated that david was very angry.

jesus teach me to discipline my children when they are wayward, so that there may be god's peace and harmony in the family and in our lives.

amnon loved the sister tamar and was attracted to her physically. he requested her to make things in his sight and that caused him to lust after her even more.

it is all lust and not love and he pushed her out after laying with her.

men struggle with lust and i am reminded to pray for ernest and josef in this area. god is the one to help them.

lord jesus i pray that you help ernest and josef to be self controlled and may their lives be empowered by the holy spirit. let them pursue after you and your kingdom. let your joy and peace reign in their hearts. let them not be consumed by lust of women or wealth or status but only by you.

let love and righteousness reign in their lives.

ps 119 writes about the importance of god's preceptes and i am reminded that i should read god's word to josef daily. god i need a daily devotion to guide josef daily. lead me to one. thank you.

In mercy and truth Atonement is provided for iniquity; And by the fear of the LORD one departs from evil. pro 16:6

teteach me dear god what is means to be merciful yet standing on truth. teach me to be discerning.

i pray for ernest that you will grant him journey safty as he makes his way to the rural parts of china. send your angels to guard him as they journey on. protect them from satan's evil schemes and use them for your kingdom.bless them with joy as they go forth and bless them with your presence. thank you god.

i pray for my childrena and my day as we start a brand new day. give me discipline to accomplish all the plans with them. there is some amount of admin to be done. and sometimes i am just so sick of it. i wish i can just sit down and plan my lectures.

god grant healing to deborah's cough. give me the wisdom to stop her from eating ice cream and cold drinks. remind me to give her lots of fruits and water. teach me to let them sleep early.

god i am interested in watching Discovery and Geog channels more. remind me to watch the interesting ones . ha ha god i involve you in watching tv too. which ones would you like me to watch?

david truly repented from his sin with Bathsheba. He worshipped the lord after the baby died. this shows that he knew he was wrong and he would gladly receive all punishment,

the lord is good to the repentant. the lord promised that david would not die and he also loved solomon greatly.

also reminded that we should not sin cos of god's name.

jesus keep ern stef jo and i free from sin that we may not blemish your name.

the lord still blesses david greatly after his sin with bathsheba. i think the key is repentance. if someone repents, we should forgive and forget.

the thing about my helper is she has not even apologised to me for her misdeeds.

You have dealt well with Your servant, O LORD, according to Your word. 66 Teach me good judgment and knowledge, For I believe Your commandments.

jesus this is my prayer for myself too, that you may teach me your good judgement and knowledge.

the importance of god's word in our lives as god will deal with us according to it.

jesus i pray for judgement and knoledge in all that i do so that i may give you pleasure in my life.

jesus, thank you for providing me with a job at SIM and UniSIM. the places are so near my house. the nature of the job and the pay rate is good too. thank you for fulfilling your promise to me - that you would bring me to a place of abundance. thank you so much and i am rejoicing over that.

lord now i need a helper who i can trust. i cannot trust the present one though she is a good task master. what is going on in her heart and mind? i dun know. she is constantly lying too.

god provide me with someone who can do her work but who has character too. if tin tin is the one for our family reserve her for us and bless the working relationship with us.

please put a stop to all these changing of helpers before contract ends cos i don enjoy having nasty people at home .

god i pray that you pour your blessing onto this area of my life. i don like this person in my house and i pray that my intereaction with her will quickly come to an end. bring a pleasant and a capable person who loves my family into our circle dear jesus.

let the deceiver be out of our house soon. i would like this house to be one built on truth.

i pray for the holidays that josef will pick up on his academic knowledge. use me to fulfill his potential. he can do a lot. teach me what to do with him. let our learning be filled with joy and pleasure. thank you god.

i pray for deborah too that she will enjoy going to school in the hols, that there will be peers to play with her.

i pray for her cough and running nose that they will heal soon.

god i am going to plan lecutres soon and i ask that you be with me every step of the way. give me ideas and widsom as i plan. lead me to the right resources and people god.

god i pray for ern who is at mission trip now. i ask that you give him a personal encounter with youthat he may be so willing to surrender to you. dear god give him a humble heart which gives all glory to you. let him be captured by who you are- your majesty and power and let him see how small he is in your infinite power and might, that there is nothing for him to boaast at all cos we are just nothing in the presences of an infinite god.

it is good that i m reminded that we can ask for god's favour, we pursue after it and ask for it.

well i don like people to tell me what to do when they are not around to do it themeselves. sometimes just listening and understanding is enough.

i think i will just pray and keep quiet. one is overseas and the other is uninterested. i will pray with ernest and we do our part. the rest is up to them to do themselves.

I remember Your name in the night, O LORD, And I keep Your law. 56 This has become mine, Because I kept Your precepts.
חHETH 57 You are my portion, O LORD; I have said that I would keep Your words. 58 I entreated Your favor with my whole heart; Be merciful to me according to Your word.

again the importance of obeying and living by god's word is emphasised.

dear god help ernest, stephanie , josef and i and deborah to live according to your word. let your word be a light unto our path.

dear god, i pray for josef that you will strengthen his mind. make him a strong boy who is resilient and can rise above difficulties. perhaps you might want to use the swimming practices to train him up. i was sad to see that he swam so slowly for his bronze test. i wonder why this boy of intelligence is not among the top.

i remember your word that we will be among the top, not the bottom. i pray that you will use ern and i to train up this little boy to fulfill his potential. let god be the top priority in his ife.

i pray that josef will know what he likes and wants so that he can pursue with his mind and heart. help him to overcome difficulties.

god give me wisdom and ideas how to teach him so that he can fulfill his academic potential and enjoy learning as well.

you have called me to be a teacher in many sense, from the tertiary level, teaching the young ones to the old ones in the 60s. you have exteneded my tent such that i am teaching at every level. lead me o lord, to teach with wisdom. help me to plan the lessons with wisdom, knowledge and creativity. help me find favour with my students and superiors.

teach me to submit and respect my bosses. teach me to guide and love all you have entreated to me.

my youngest student is deborah 2 years old and i have primary school children and teens and adults. you have also brought students from all over asia to me.

use me as your ligth

protect the whole family from satan's evil scheme.

as ern is in china. use and protect him mightily. draw him clse to you and let him thrive on a close relationship with you. let him be enthralled by who you are. open his eyes to your majesty so that surrender comes so naturally to him cos he knows he is smaller than an ant in the presence of an almighty god.

i pray for deborah's salvation, that she may come to know christ at a young age and she will know you personally. fill our family with your joy and love that everyone can see you in us.

thank you for my mum's health. bless her marriage and help them love you with all their hearts.

i pray for a domestic helper who can do her job well and can relate with us like a family member. we need to trust her. provide us with someone who has integrity and responsibility and who will love and treat us like a family. she needs to be able to work too. i pray she will pick up cooking quickly too.

like the way you provide rebecca for abraham's servant, i pray that you will bring this person to us too.

let her be fixed on working for us despite physical circumstances such no private room of her own.

if she is not for us, i pray that you will let her find another employer so that i know she is not for us.

i lvoe you lord. draw me close to you so that i may know you.

Commit your works to the LORD, And your thoughts will be established.

i am living by the above verse for all my work. i must commit the works to god and god will help me establish my work.

you gave us a miracle yesterday. thank you and praise you!

thank you for healing deborah of hand foot mouth disease. the blisters on her hand disapperard within an hour or so. i did not expect it and was looking at her palms, even between the fingers for the blisters that have gone.

it is really beyond understanding and i credit all to the work of god.

thank you jesus thank you god. thank you so much.

we did not even pray and you intervened. indeed your eye is on us every second. thank you.

i pray for ernest and my marriage. god it seems that we have so little time with each other cos there have been so many things happening. teach us to make time for each other. teach us that this marriage needs nurturing the way our relationship with you needs to be nurtured.

help us to fill this marriage with love and patience and understanding.

i lift up our sex life to you too and i pray that you will bless this area as well. teach us to enjoy each other cos you have blessed us with this. bless the process and help us to enjoy this gift from you. and as you see the best time, bless us with a daughter dear god. i do hope to have a daughter more than a son. but not my will but yours be done. i only share with you my desire.

i pray for deborah who has cough and phlegm now. remind us to give her medicine faithfully and help her respond well to the medicine. let her drink lots of water and rest a lot today.

i pray for her excursion tomorrow that she will be safe. Angels will surround her and protect her from harm.

i pray for deborah's salvation. i pray that she will know and love jesus and invite him to her life.

i lift up josef's walk with god to you. god i pray that you will use use and church to nurture a deep love relationship with you. keep the spiritual fire burning within him. let him know you god.

forgive ern and i when we have modelled a life of commitment to you. forgive us when we did not know how to be a good steward to this child you have given us. give us wisdom on what to do dear lord.

god i pray for josef's studies that he may live up to his full potential. i am disappointed with the resuls cos i know it is not his best. teach me how to guide him dear lord.

i pray for ern work. bless the work of his hands.w hen time is tight i pray that you will multiply his speed and help him to complete in miraculous time. dear jesus thank you for blessing his ext job. teach him to give all glory to you.

i thank you for my mother's health. thank you for preserving her life. i pray that you will open up the communication lines between my parents and bless their marriage.

i pray for my dad in law that he will enjoy his last days. teach and show us how to love him. let him experience your love.

as i ponder over josef's relationship with god. the quetion which pop in my mind is: how much have i wrestle in prayer for him?

my anwer is minimal.

god is telling me that i must pray withe sweat for josef -- or anything that matters to me. it should not just be causal prayer but one of ernestness and determination. pray till it happens.

lord teach and strengthen me to be a woman of prayer.

i pray that you will show me too how to guide josef in his studies even as i spend more time with him from june onwards. not only in studies but in the things of god and current affairs too.

god give me wisdom on these areas. for i know your wisdom is unfathomable.

i have decided to read the new king james version instead of the living bible. i like the language better cos i think it seems more accurate.

let us study pslam 115 based on new kings james version.

v1 says
Not to us, O LORD, not to us but to your name be the glory, because of your love and faithfulness.

firstly, we should not seek to glorify ourselves but god's name.

why?

cos god has been loving and faithful to us.

self application:
glory goes to god for bringing me to the new places to teach. my teaching and presenting abilities are from god. he has opened the door for me and has helped me find favour with the authorities.

as i enter the pasture, god will be with me and he will give me success in whatever i do. the thing he asks from me is to fear god and obey him. ensure there is no foreign god in my life.

You who fear him, trust in the LORD— he is their help and shield.

two actions on our part:

why?
god is our help and shield.

self application

continue to live with the attitude that god is the highest authority in my life. not only that, live in the consciousnesss that he is alpha and omega, the beginning and the end.

nothing escapes from his eye. not that he is catching our mistakes but he is the all knowing god. the omniscient god.

live in that fear that i will give an account to god before his throne one day. let there be nothing that displeases god in mylife. let me live that when i see god face to face, god's smile to me is one of pleasure and delight.

it is the heart that matters. in all that i do, do it unto god. to please him, not to win man's praise or affirmation.

it is we who extol the LORD, both now and forevermore. Praise the LORD. [a

how do we extol god?

i pause a while as i ponder over this question.

david is successful

i am amazed by how david found favour with everybody except saul who was jealous of him. let me re read the passage and find out what is the key of his success.

12 Saul was afraid of David because the Lord was with him but had departed from Saul.

But all Israel and Judah loved David, for he went out and came in before them.

i could only find two reasons and they are firstly, god is with him and secondly he went out and came in before them.

god is with him because i think, there is no foreign god with him, he obeys god's words and he has a heart of love towards god.

what does it mean by going out and coming in before the people? does it mean that he is closely involved in interacting with them? does it mean that he is personally involved with them?

i read fromt the newspaper yesterday that the best leader is concerned about his people.

as i read ps 112, it says that the off spring of the righteous will be blessed in the land. i am disturbed that josef does not seem to have a personal relationship with god. he does not pray and does not think of god in the course of living.

god please teach hong and i how to set a good example for him. we used to have daily devotion with him. god teach me to do it with him daily, perhaps with a devotion book for primary school children. i need to find time to buy the devotion.

it is well for the man who deals generously and lends freedly.
his heart is firm, trusting in the lord.

god seems to be speaking to me not to fret about sibling's contribution or lack of. it will be well for us as god promises and we must trust the lord.

now to prayer.

god i need a helper whom can be part of the family, who will respect me as employer and whom we can rely on to carry out tasks and love the kids and family. someone whom we can understand and love too. bless us with someone of character and intergrity and a reasonable work skill and attitude.

i do not want simply a task master. i need the person to have a trust relationship with me so that i know things are well taken care of at home.

i pray regarding the helper that patrick has on hand right now. if she is the best for me, please keep her for my family. you know the best god.

as i talk to her, help me find favour with her too, that among the many employers who want to hire her, let her heart be fixed on our family.

as i talk to her, let me discern that she is someone who can be trusted and understood, help me understand from her past experiences her working and social abilities.

just as abraham's servant prayed for rebecca, i pray for my helper. plese lead me to her or her to me cos i am so busy nowadys with shifting house. please drop her into my lap and let me know she is from you.

it is difficult to find a good helper, ernest says. yes i agree and i pray that god will do the imporssible for me, the way you have helped me with my career, help me in my family too.

i pray for my dad in law that he will take to the pills well. teach me to pray with him daily and show him love daily.

i pray for my children that they will know and love the lord. bless them with a love relationship with you that they may love you with their whole being. deliver them from simply an intellectual knowledege of you.

i pray for josef''s studies that he may work and learn more and perform better for the rest of the year. it seems that parental guidance is a necessity this time.

i pray for our marriage. i find that we are not nurturing it as much as last time. teach us to give priority to it once again. overflow it with your love.
